Happy New Year! I know I told all of you in our C'mas card that my New Year's Resolution was to keep up on our family's blog-so far so good. We had a great C'mas but missed Kayla and Jordyn because they were with their dad in AZ. They had a hard time getting there because of a huge storm. They missed their flight at 12:40pm by 2 minutes and didn't end up flying out until 9:15pm. Good thing I checked them out of school early that day! Without the girls here to wake us up at the crack of dawn on Christmas morning though, I must say we were just a bit lazy. We finally went in to wake Ben up at 8:30 to come see what Santa brought and his response was a sleepy, "Not yet". Rachel got a basket full of lip stuff from Santa and that's pretty much all she cared about for the rest of the week until one by one she had them all eaten!
We all had a great time the first week of December when we got to go with Craig's whole family to Disneyland. It was so neat to see it all decorated for C'mas. I loved the end of the parade when "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" started playing and it started "snowing". It really was magical! Craig and I decided our favorite new ride is the Toy Story ride in California Adventure. I think Craig went on it about 10 times. I discovered that yes, I do still hate roller coasters and I should go with my gut feeling about things I'm not going to like. After much persuasion from several brother and sisters in law I conceded and went on California Screamin'. I HATED it!!!!! Craig said I was whimpering through the whole thing. Nothing like feeling like your going to die. Ben had a similar experience on Tower of Terror. He told his uncle Todd after that some rides are not for big kids and little kids. All in all it was a very fun vacation and so great to be with the whole family, except for Tyler of course because he's still in France on his mission. We missed him.
I had a very funny phone call the other morning from Craig when I was up crossing. He said he went to pour himself a bowl of cereal and he could hear something clanking in the milk jug. He thought maybe the fridge had kind of frozen it and it was ice. Upon closer inspection however, he could see a small pencil sharpener floating and 5 crayons in the bottom of the jug, courtesy of Rachel. She really keeps us on our toes! I like to affectionately refer to her as "The Destroyer" because that is her mission every day.
I hope to have an entry here about once a week so keep checking. The picture is of Rachel, Maryn, and Brinley in the cute Christmas dresses my mom gave them. What cutie pies!
Love you all!
